Nebo Calucy Too Tracker Day 2 (incomplete)

After a nice on board breakfast and hoisting the AGLCA burgee, we cast off and headed up the Detroit River in the downbound Livingston Channel. Here we encounter a few huge Great Lakes freighters on our way to downtown Detroit!

Passing under the US-Canadian Ambassador Bridge, we entered the metropolitan area of Detroit and Belle Isle home of the Detroit Yacht Club. John's grandfather was an architect and instrumental in the design and construction of this iconic building looking back into Detroit from the island.

Thanks to the kindness of racing sailor cousin, Dave Williams, we were able to dock 2 nights at the Conner Creek location of the Bayview Yacht Club. As a 100 year+ sailing club, it is sponsor of the Detroit-Mackinaw Sailboat Race each July so most of the resident fleet was aggressively sailing "up north" leaving most of the club docks and clubhouse vacant. We enjoyed a leisurely two days at the Bayview dock including a Great Lakes awesome Bayview bartender inspired "Hummer" to celebrate the sunset.
